Common questions

When We Can Come

Do you work weekends and public holidays?

Weekends and public holidays make no difference to us. A blocked drain doesn't check a calendar before causing a mess, so our roster doesn't either, and you'll be treated the same whatever day you ring.

Are you really available 24/7?

We are. A real person answers the phone, day or night, not a machine. Whether it's 3am and the laundry's flooding or a Sunday afternoon, that call gets answered and a plumber starts heading your way.

How fast can you get here?

Most Killara jobs go from your call to a finished clear on the same visit. Exactly when depends on where our plumbers already are and how urgent the job is, but getting to you quickly is what we work to, not the exception.

What happens after I call?

Whoever picks up the call knows the drill straight away: what's wrong, how urgent, and roughly where. From there we settle a time to suit, same-day when the job won't hold, and the plumber who arrives has your price confirmed before starting anything.

Common questions

What It Costs to Get It Sorted

What discounts do you offer?

New customers get $65 off your first service. On top of that, jobs worth $200 or more come with a free plumbing check thrown in, every paid job earns a premium garden tap, and there's a 20% seniors discount. These stack, so it's common to claim more than one on the same job.

What does "$65 off your first service" cover?

That $65 comes off whatever your first job costs, big or small. There's no minimum spend and no conditions beyond booking with us for the first time, and it's deducted automatically when we invoice you.

How does your upfront fixed pricing work?

We size up what's needed with you standing right there, and shake on one straight price before picking up any tools. That figure doesn't move once we begin, even if the job takes more time than planned. No hourly rates, no surprises on the invoice.

Do you charge a call-out fee?

No. It's a $0 call-out fee for every job we quote. You only pay the quoted amount for the actual work, never a charge just because we showed up.

Common questions

Local Answers for Killara

Can you handle new builds and renovations here?

Yes, and we see plenty of both. Killara's heritage conservation areas mean older homes often need extra care matching new pipework to what's already there, while a new build gets connected fresh from the start. Either way, we check the drainage is compliant before we leave.

How local are you, really?

We're out this way often, not just passing through. Most weeks we're clearing drains around Killara High School, and a heavy summer thunderstorm pushing water down these sloped blocks is a familiar call for us.

Why do Killara's older homes get blocked drains?

Older homes here are more likely to still have their original earthenware or early pipework, which cracks and shifts as it ages and lets tree roots and silt in. It's a frequent reason we're called out to the more established streets.

Do tree roots cause many blockages around Killara?

They're one of our most common calls here. Big, well-grown gardens and mature street trees mean plenty of underground pipes have roots pressing in, especially where the joints have aged. If a drain has blocked more than once, roots are usually behind it.

Common questions

Who's Responsible for What

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. We hold NSW Plumbing Licence #465156C, and licensing and insurance cover the whole crew, not just whoever answers the phone. It's a legal requirement for drainage work in NSW, and we treat it as the standard, not a selling point.

Do wipes really block drains?

More than most people realise. Packaging claims aside, these products stay intact far longer than paper does, snagging on rough joints and roots until the line chokes up. The bin is the safer option, whatever the label promises.

What standards does drainage work follow?

Our drainage work is carried out to AS/NZS 3500, the Australian plumbing standard. It sets general rules for pipe grades, falls and connections across the trade, and it's the benchmark our licensed plumbers work to on every job, not just the ones anyone checks.

Who is responsible for a blocked sewer, me or Sydney Water?

It depends where the blockage sits. Pipework on your property, up to the connection point, is your responsibility. Sydney Water owns and maintains the mains beyond that point, and we can usually tell which side a blockage is on after a quick look.
